I’ve learned that calling a fat straight girl pretending to be gay man is not acceptable to Grindr’s rules, but saying that the fat straight girl pretending to be a gay man mental illnesses would be over great interest to my straight tranny chasing friend and could I please show their profile is acceptable. I’m been trolling trannies/enbys/queer identified ugly women for two weeks now, and I’ve been blocked by above 30 of them, and I’m Grindr has not canceled my account. That ALWAYS send them into a panic and they will block right away. If all else fails, I will ask if they mind if I give their profile to my straight friends or my mythical tranny chasing straight guy friends, because straight people would find them amazing. Social media gives me the names of their romantic partners (always hideous like the trannies), friends, pets and sometime their place of work. If they have a link to their Instagram or Twitter, it opens up a whole new area to targeted harassment. I’ll then probe them with asking about the height and weight, mental illnesses and their relationship status (the answers are almost always tragic). It’s amazing to me how the majority of them think that question is in good faith. Generally, I target the tranny with “do you a pussy or dick between your legs?” as my opening message. Now I’m back to trolling trannies, but I’m skirting the line of just this side of Grindr’s harassment rules. I made an anonymous email address on Protonmail and used it to signed for Grindr once more. So really Grindr? You ban me and will not tell me why you've banned me because of privacy and safety reasons? That doesn't even begin to make any freaking sense, at all.I’ve got a new phone. We appreciate your understanding and wish you all the best.

They have engaged in behavior that is specific, targeted, and sometimes illegal. Unfortunately, many of the users who claim to have been banned for "no reason" know exactly why they have been banned. Even in most cases where we overturn a ban, the user has still violated our guidelines, but, after review, we believed that a warning is more appropriate. This is extremely rare, and we have a robust ban appeal system in place to make sure we can correct any mistakes. I want to end by saying that because our agents are human, there are occasions where a user is banned by mistake. We will be reviewing the feedback once this is rolled out, but hope that we can implement these warnings across a number of categories. We hope that this will give users an opportunity to correct behavior that could eventually get them banned, and show them that an eventual ban is not "for no reason". In the coming days, we will be releasing a new feature which will provide warnings to users for harassment when a moderator gives a user another chance. When they are finally banned, they may think it is "for no reason" instead of recognizing that the culmination of their behavior caused the ban.

This can be confusing for users when they are eventually banned, because they got away with bad behavior for a long time and think that means it's acceptable. In these cases, we will give the user a second (or third or fourth) chance. Sometimes we see bad behavior that is not serious enough to warrant an immediate ban on it's own, but still violates our guidelines. All other profiles/ reports are reviewed by a human, no exceptions. There are occasions where if the system detects spammy/ bot-like behavior, it may ban the account without human intervention. If we banned people without "rhyme or reason", a consequence of that would be that we would be limiting the amount of people on our app.
